Leaders
We believe Christ is the head of the church, and He exercises His Lordship directly over individual Christians and churches. The church membership makes decisions at quarterly meetings, according to how God has led them. On a day to day basis, the church entrusts the following elected leaders to represent their views and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor
Rob Rodgers
Rob has been an ordained Baptist Pastor since 1998. He is married to Michelle (Shelley). He was called to the role of pastor at AWBC in April 2023. He is responsible for teaching and preaching, and provides general oversight of the church's leadership team. He plays the guitar and leads worship at times.
Church Elder
Ray Waghorn
Ray has been part of this church for about a decade and has served as an Elder here for a number of years. He is married to Beth and he has recently retired from a professional career. He leads a Life Group, does visitation, and you'll also sometimes see him on stage leading the worship.
Pastoral Care
Beth Waghorn
Beth is the heart and hands of our church ministry team. She organises home and hospital visits, overseas meal prep, and creates social activities to meet the mix of needs and interests in our church family. She is married to Ray, and they have grown up children.
