OUR LEADERS

As a Baptist church, we ultimately believe that Christ is the head of the church, and that He exercises His Lordship directly over individual Christians and churches. In other words, Christ is the mediator between God and man (1 Tim 2:5), but there is no mediator between Christ and His people. The way AWBC exercises this biblical principle is through quarterly member meetings, where the entire church membership make decisions according to how God has led them. However on a day to day basis, the church entrusts the following elected leaders to represent their views and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit:

ROB RODGERS

PASTOR

Rev. Rob Rodgers was called to the role of pastor at AWBC
in April of 2023. He provides general oversight of the
leadership team, as well as being responsible for the teaching
and preaching of the church. He is ably supported by his
wife Shelley, and has two adult children.

BEN STONE

 ELDER

Ben moved to Agnes Water in 2018 after holidaying here most of his childhood. His wife Kirsty works as a primary school teacher at the local Christian School and they have three young children. Ben believes a smaller church provides everyone an opportunity to be involved and we can grow together as we are challenged in different areas of ministry..

RAY WAGHORN

 ELDER

Ray is an Elder who has a passion for fellowship and discipleship. He desires to see Christians take their faith seriously, but not themselves. Ray loves to fish in his spare time, as well as take his wife Beth out for coffee. Ray is an operator in the Gladstone power station.
